CFCC to Host Surf City Center Open House on June 18

Wilmington, NC (June 4, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College invites community members to explore new educational opportunities at its Surf City Open House on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. This event will offer prospective students, families, and community partners an opportunity to learn about programs offered at the Surf City Center, meet instructors and staff, and tour the facility.

The open house follows a recent expansion at the Surf City Center, enhancing its capacity to meet the growing needs of the community. The expanded facility allows CFCC to introduce new programs and enhanced learning spaces, increasing access to high-quality, workforce focused education in Pender County.

“As Pender County continues to experience rapid growth, so do the opportunities for education and workforce training,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “This is an exciting time for the Surf City Center, and we’re eager to show the community everything that’s new.”

The Surf City Center plays a vital role expanding access to education in northern New Hanover and Pender counties, offering convenient pathways to career advancement, skills training, and college transfer programs.
