CFCC to Expand Class Offerings for In-Demand Skilled Trades

Wilmington, NC (June 3, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College is expanding class offerings in high-demand technical programs for the fall semester. New offerings will include daytime and evening options, spanning several areas of study, including Criminal Justice, Electrical Systems, Plumbing, HVAC, Mechatronics, and Business Administration.
“We are committed to providing students with flexible pathways to education and career training,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “Expanding these course offerings provides more opportunities for students to pursue their educational goals in a way that fits their schedules and needs.”
New offerings beginning this fall will be offered in person at CFCC’s North Campus, the Burgaw Campus and the Alston Burke Surf City Campus. New offerings include:
North Campus:
- Electrical Systems Technology Certificate Program
- ELC112: DC/AC Electricity – Offered at 5:30 PM – 8:10 PM on Tuesday and Thursday
- ELC113: Residential Wiring – Offered at 5:30 PM – 8:10 PM on Monday and Wednesday
- Plumbing Certificate and Diploma
- PLU110: Modern Plumbing – 7:30 AM – 10:15 AM on Tuesday, 7:30 AM – 10:25 AM on Wednesday and Thursday
Burgaw Campus:
- Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Technology (HVAC) Certificate Program
- AHR110: Intro to Refrigeration – Offered at 9:00 AM – 10:50 AM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Mechatronics Engineering Technology Certificate Program
- ATR112: Introduction to Automation – Offered 9:00 AM – 9:20 AM, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Monday and Wednesday
- ATR280: Robotic Fundamentals – Offered 9:00 AM – 9:20 AM, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Tuesday and Thursday
