CFCC Expands Evening Course Offerings to Meet Growing Demand

Wilmington, NC (July 27, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College is significantly expanding its fall course offerings across its Downtown and Alston W. Burke Surf City campuses. Designed to meet growing regional workforce demand, the expanded schedule features flexible evening, hybrid, and continuing education options.
At the Downtown Campus, CFCC is offering an evening schedule for foundational science courses. These prerequisites serve as vital pathways for students aspiring to enter competitive healthcare programs such as Nursing, Health and Fitness Science, Medical Lab Technology, Dental Hygiene, Occupational Therapy Assistant, and Radiography
Simultaneously, the Surf City Campus is broadening its footprint with an extensive roster of curriculum degree classes and Economic & Workforce Development continuing education courses. This expansion spans skilled trades, business fundamentals, healthcare prerequisites, and community enrichment.
Downtown Campus
- Healthcare Prerequisites: Chemistry I, Anatomy & Physiology I, Geology, and Biology I
Alston W. Burke Surf City Campus
- Curriculum & Degree Pathways: Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Principles of Financial Accounting, Introduction to Business, Modern Plumbing, Intro to Refrigeration, HVACR Electricity, Circuit Analysis I, Hydraulics/Pneumatics I, and Concepts of Algebra.
- Workforce & Continuing Education: Trades training in Plumbing, Outboard Systems, Small Engine Mechanic, and HVAC; professional development in Accounting and Employee Development; and community classes including Computers for Beginners and Mahjong.
