CFCC Partners with Flying Machine Brewing Company for Hands-On Craft Brewing Program

Wilmington, NC (September 18, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College is partnering with Flying Machine Brewing Company to host its Commercial Craft Brewing classes directly inside the brewery’s state-of-the-art production facility and professional laboratory on Randall Parkway.

The 10-week program blends classroom instruction with 10 hours of hands-on fieldwork, giving students direct experience brewing, kegging, and canning beer on commercial-grade equipment. Designed for aspiring professionals, industry workers looking to upskill, and serious hobbyists, the curriculum covers the complete brewing process from “grain to glass.” Students will explore brewing science, beer styles, flavor profiles, equipment operation, and industry standards for quality control and service.

By training in a working commercial brewery, our graduates gain the exact practical skills and technical experience local employers are looking for.”

Classes begin on October 5, and registration is now open. Students must be 21 years of age or older to participate.
