Associate in Arts
An Associate in Arts degree provides a firm academic foundation for students who want to work on the first part of a four-year degree before transferring to a 4-year college or university.
The Associate in Arts (AA) degree requires 60-61 credit hours. It’s the broadest degree CFCC offers, giving students the opportunity to take a wide variety of required transferable courses appropriate to all fields. It’s ideal for students who are undecided on a future major. Every credit a student earns at CFCC in the Associate of Arts program will count toward their degree at any one of the 16 institutions in the UNC System. Students who successfully complete an AA degree will be able to transfer to a receiving school as a junior.
Here’s how it works:
- Once you become a CFCC student, meet with a CFCC Academic Advisor and discuss your long-term goals.
- Connect with the transfer institution of your choice, and familiarize yourself with their transfer requirements.
- Keep your grades up and make sure to use CFCC’s student resources to help you be successful.
