Cape Fear Community College to Host Wilmington City Council and Mayoral Candidate Forums

Candidate Forum
WILMINGTON, NC — Cape Fear Community College’s Department of Social and Behavioral Science and Student Political Science Club are pleased to present Wilmington City Council and Mayoral Candidate Forums on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The event will be held at the CFCC Wilmington Campus in the Union Station auditorium (U-170).

“This event is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn about each candidate and their priorities,” said CFCC President Jim Morton. “We are proud to host these important forums, and we hope to have many community members in attendance.”

The forum is open to the public, free of charge, and will be moderated by WECT’s Jon Evans.

“Local politics affect our daily lives,” said CFCC’s Thomas Massey, department chair of social and behavioral science. “Policies can impact the cost of housing, the success of business ventures, the long-term infrastructure of the City of Wilmington, and our environment. We invite the public to come out and listen to mayoral and city council candidate visions for the future of our city.”
