CFCC Launches Business Basics Certificate at Surf City Campus
Wilmington, NC (April 14, 2025) – Cape Fear Community College is excited to launch its Business Basics Certificate at the Surf City campus. This two-semester program is designed to introduce students to core principles of business, accounting, technology, and professional communication. It begins in Fall 2025 and is open to all current and prospective CFCC students and Career and College Promise students.
This certificate provides a solid foundation for students considering careers in business administration, finance, marketing, and management. Individuals completing the certificate will be equipped with essential skills to pursue entry-level positions across various industries, including government, healthcare, small business, and financial services.
Certificate highlights:
- Business Management Fundamentals: ethics, international business, management processes, human resources, marketing, logistics, and social media
- Financial Accounting Principles: business transactions, financial statements, cash flow, and inventory management
- Technology in Business: Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
- Professional Skills Development: effective communication, team building, and decision-making strategies
Courses will be offered in the evenings to accommodate individuals seeking to advance in their careers and explore new opportunities. Classes will be held in person and include online components to enhance flexibility. The course schedule is as follows:
- Fall 2025
- Introduction to Business (Wednesdays, 6:00-7:15 p.m., Surf City campus)
- Principles of Financial Accounting (Mondays, 6:00-7:15 p.m., Surf City campus)
- Spring 2026
- Principles of Management (time will be announced October 2025, Surf City campus)
- Introduction to Computers (time will be announced October 2025, Surf City campus)
