CFCC Offers Career Discovery Course in Warehousing with Forklift and OSHA Training
Wilmington, NC (April 24, 2025)—Cape Fear Community College is now enrolling for a Career Discovery Course in Warehousing. This short-term training program is designed to equip students interested in entering the warehouse and distribution industry with essential employability skills. The course also provides hands-on forklift operation training and participants will receive the OSHA 10-hour General Industry certification.
This intensive course will cover the basics of warehousing operations, safety protocols, and workplace readiness. Students will receive practical instruction on forklift operation, including its design, use, maintenance, and safety aspects, along with OSHA 10-hour training to enhance workplace safety knowledge and credentials.
“With the continued growth at the Port of Wilmington, demand for skilled workers in warehousing and distribution continues to grow in our region,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “This course offers a fast-track path to employment in a high-demand field, helping meet the workforce needs of local employers while creating meaningful opportunities for our students.”
The course will run from May 5 to May 12. Classes will be held on the CFCC Downtown Wilmington campus. The course will be held on the following schedule:
- May 5 (Monday): 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- May 6 (Tuesday): 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- May 7 (Wednesday): 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- May 9 (Friday): 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- May 12 (Monday): 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
