CFCC Simulation and Game Development to Host Career Discovery Night

Wilmington, NC (June 30, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College will host a Career Discovery Night for current and prospective students to learn more about the Simulation and Game Development Program on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The event will take place on CFCC’s Downtown Campus in the L Building (415 N. 2nd Street), room 312. A virtual option will be offered at https://meet.google.com/uqs-ousw-hga .
This event is designed for individuals interested in pursuing careers in the rapidly growing gaming industry. Students who complete the program can pursue careers as content designers, game designers, game programmers, level designers, asset modelers, or gameplay animators.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, interact with Simulation and Game Development faculty, ask questions, and learn about the enrollment process.
Using Unreal Engine 5, students build foundational knowledge in game design, develop engaging game mechanics, create documentation, and turn ideas into playable experiences. Students also gain experience working on both solo and group projects. Graduates are prepared for careers as a content designer, game designer, game programmer, level designer, asset modeler, and gameplay animator.
