CFCC to Conduct Mass Casualty Incident and Active Shooter Simulation

Emergency medical responders wearing gloves and safety vests practice treating a simulated trauma patient on a stretcher. One responder operates a bag-valve mask while others assist with patient care during a hands-on emergency response training exercise.

Wilmington, NC (November 3, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College will conduct a Mass Casualty Incident and Active Shooter Simulation at Union Station on the downtown Wilmington campus and at the North Campus in conjunction with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, November 14, 2026.

The training will begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. It will include simulated mass casualty incidents, active-shooter scenarios, and medical exercises designed to prepare participants to respond to critical emergencies.

The Active Shooter Simulation will take place at North Campus. During the exercise, residents and businesses nearby may hear sounds resembling gunfire. Activities at Union Station will occur inside the building.
