CFCC to Host Simulation and Game Development Career Discovery Night
Wilmington, NC (August 6, 2026) – Ready to turn your passion for gaming into a career? Cape Fear Community College is hosting a Career Discover Night for current and prospective students interested in Simulation and Game Development on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 4:00-5:30 p.m.
It will take place on CFCC’s Downtown Campus in the L Building at 415 North 2nd Street, room 218. A virtual option will be offered at https://meet.google.com/qyb-fipp-szd
Designed to provide an inside look at CFCC’s Simulation and Game Development program, the event features hands-on demonstrations of the tools and skills driving the modern gaming industry. Attendees will learn how students who complete the program can pursue careers as game designers, programmers, level designers, asset modelers, content designers, or gameplay animators.
Presentations will also highlight the 12-week course options which start September 14. Using Unreal Engine 5, students build foundational knowledge in game design, develop engaging game mechanics, create documentation, and turn ideas into playable experiences. Students also gain experience working on both solo and group projects.
