CFCC’s New Aviation Associate Degree Program Set to Take Flight This Fall

Wilmington, NC (April 27, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College is excited to announce the launch of a new Associate in Applied Science in Aviation Management and Career Pilot Technology. This new degree is designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in the rapidly growing aviation industry. Applications for the program are now open for the upcoming fall semester.
This program is designed to fit busy schedules and make learning more accessible. Classes are offered during the day and in the evening, with a mix of in-person and online instruction. In the fall semester, students will come to campus two days a week and complete the rest of their coursework online, providing more flexibility to balance school with work and other commitments.
Students enrolled in the program will have the opportunity to tailor their education by choosing from one of two specialized concentrations – Career Pilot Technology or Aviation Management Technology. The Career Pilot Technology concentration is designed for students pursuing professional pilot pathways, while the Aviation Management Technology concentration focuses on the business and operational side of the aviation industry.
“This program represents an exciting step forward in expanding career opportunities for our students,” said Jim Morton, Cape Fear Community College President. “With the aviation industry experiencing significant growth, there is a strong demand for skilled professionals, and CFCC is proud to play a role in meeting that need.”
