Rebecka Rose

Biography

Dr. Rebecka Rose is a full-time instructor of music for Cape Fear Community College teaching Music Appreciation, Music Fundamentals, and applied woodwind lessons. She has also previously taught for Carteret Community College, Coastal Carolina Community College, and Montreat College.

Dr. Rose served as principal oboist for nine years with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra (NC). She was featured by the WSO in 2014 with her performance of Bohuslav Martinů’s Concerto for Oboe and Small Orchestra. Dr. Rose has performed with orchestras in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, and the Washington, D.C. area.

Dr. Rose has studied with Joseph Robinson, principal oboist of the New York Philharmonic from 1978-2005 and student of Marcel Tabuteau; Jan Eberle, past professor of oboe at Michigan State University; and all of the woodwind instruments with Wayne Fritchie, graduate of The Juilliard School.
