Biography

Professor Rachel Satzman has been teaching Anthropology for over 20 years. She received her undergraduate degree from Fort Lewis College in Colorado. She then completed her master’s degree at the Graduate Faculty Program at New School for Social Research and NYU and attended the University Von Amsterdam in The Netherlands. The study of Anthropology has taken her all over the world, including, but not limited to, Kenya, Japan, Italy, Peru, Bermuda, Spain, Greece, Iceland, and the Galapagos Islands. She has been teaching here at CFCC for over ten years.

  • Founding member of the Artifact Project at the Archaeological Museum in Naxos, Greece.
  • Principle Researcher in Machu Picchu, Peru studying the impacts of tourism on this World Heritage Site.
  • Applied Anthropology Research on the Uros people of Lake Titicaca region in Peru.
  • Principle Researcher in San Cristobal, Galapagos – Hydrology and Sustainable Tourism
