Wilmington, NC –Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is proud to announce the Rotary Film Scholar, a scholarship provided by the Wilmington Rotary Club to support students studying Film and Video Production Technology. The initial $1,500 donation will fund a year-long scholarship for one student, with $750 allocated per semester. Additionally, the Wilmington Rotary Club has committed to donating an extra $1,500 annually for four years, ultimately supporting five students per year by the fifth year.

Any Film and Video Production Technology program student can apply for the scholarship. Applicants must have an instructor recommendation and submit an essay describing how the program will help them serve the community. Students can apply for the scholarship through the CFCC Foundation at cfcc.edu/foundation.

“The Wilmington Rotary Club values the tremendous role that Cape Fear Community College plays in contributing to our region’s great quality of life and significant growth through the College’s many educational and community programs,” said Lou DiGiusto, Rotarian. “In addition to the scholarship, the Wilmington Rotary Club gave a grant to the CFCC Film Department for production equipment.”

“We are grateful for the partnership with the Wilmington Rotary Club to launch this scholarship and provide valuable support to our film and video production students,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “As the film industry continues to grow rapidly in and around Wilmington, we must help these students, providing resources and assistance to support their success in this field.”
