Film and Video Production Request for Donor Assistance

Cape Fear Community College’s Film and Video Production (FVP) program is excited to have the opportunity to bring to fruition a remarkable student film born from the “Sundance Director’s Academy.” This compelling short film aims to shed light on the contemporary challenges faced by our soldiers, and CFCC students have the chance of a lifetime to impart this wealth of knowledge to the filmmakers of tomorrow.

While the NCFA covers essential labor costs and miscellaneous supplies, several crucial elements are still needed. These include, but are not limited to, box trucks and fuel, various special effects, wardrobe supplies, rental of mobile bathrooms, and numerous small items and rentals that must be addressed.

We hope that Cape Fear Community College supporters will recognize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity this presents for our students. With your help, this story can shine at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

This venture wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of the State of North Carolina, New Hanover County, and the City of Wilmington. The driving force behind this unique opportunity is the North Carolina Film Alliance (NCFA), under the guidance of Susi Hamilton, with invaluable support from Darla and Laura of the Local 491 film union.
