HISTORIC CONSTRUCTION ESSENTIALS – 96 HOURS

The course is designed to teach students how to properly renovate historical homes and small commercial units with a preservation approach. Students will be able to identify different styles of historic materials and methods used to construct them. Students will learn a full comprehension of interior and exterior value and how to preserve them as well as understand the architecture of Wilmington and its historic districts. Take field trips to local historic homes and buildings to gain an understanding of and appreciation for Wilmington’s historic community. This class meets two times a week; once face-to-face and once online.

Certifications

Upon completion, students will earn a certificate in Historic Preservation Construction from Cape Fear Community College as well as their OSHA 10 Construction Certification.
