Jason McLeod Appointed to CFCC Board of Trustees

Wilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College is pleased to announce that Mr. Jason McLeod has been appointed to the CFCC Board of Trustees.

McLeod is the business development manager for ECS Southeast, LLP, where he provides support and leadership to grow the business practices for the company in eastern North Carolina. Prior to joining ECS in 2013, McLeod spent nearly a decade in commercial real estate brokerage with Maus, Warwick, Matthews and Company.

McLeod is committed to economic development throughout the state. He was recently elected to the board of directors for the North Carolina Economic Development Association and serves on the board of directors for North Carolina Southeast. In addition, McLeod volunteers regularly to work on various sub-committees focusing on funding and strategic planning.

“As a resident of Wilmington for 28 years, I feel a great sense of pride in our community and see CFCC as a key component to providing pathways of opportunity for all people,” said McLeod. “Our region is changing rapidly. CFCC will be nimble and at the forefront providing education and training to meet the needs of existing and future businesses, infrastructure expansion, and population dynamics.”

Mr. McLeod has worked with area citizens from every walk of life, and his community service has enriched the lives of many. His experience in local economic development is key to CFCC’s goal of helping to build a highly-qualified workforce by providing innovative educational and training opportunities.”

McLeod is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington where he studied environmental policy and planning. Upon graduation, he began his career as a scouting professional with the Cape Fear Council-Boy Scouts of America.

In 2009, McLeod co-founded Honor Flight of Southeastern North Carolina and led an all-volunteer team for over two years to successfully fly 745 WWII veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorial built in their honor.

An Eagle Scout, McLeod lives in Wilmington with his wife, Mary Kay, and three children.

“As a father of three young children, I have a great interest in continuing the strong legacy CFCC has in preparing students for a viable future in southeastern North Carolina. I take on this role with a great sense of honor and obligation,” said McLeod.
