Enrollment Steps for All Locations & Online

To enroll in an ESL class at any of our campus or community locations, including online classes, follow these four steps:

Age Requirements

You must be 18 or older to register. If you are 16 or 17 years old and not attending a local public school, you can register with a signed and notarized parental consent form .

Required Documentation

Bring a valid photo ID that displays your birth date and signature. Please make sure you know your complete home address when filling out intake forms.

Schedule Your Appointment

Book your mandatory registration and orientation session in advance:

Attend 2-Day Registration

Attend your scheduled 2-day ESL registration session to complete your placement assessment, qualify for the program, and finalize your class schedule.

Note for Students Ages 16–17: Minors must complete a minor permission form prior to class registration. Please email completed forms to workforceinfo@cfcc.edu or submit them in person at registration.

Are ESL classes at CFCC really 100% free?

Yes! All ESL classes, registration fees, placement assessments, and learning materials are completely free to students. The program is funded through state and federal adult education grants.

What documentation do I need to bring when I register?

You must bring an official photo ID (such as a passport, driver’s license, state ID, or national ID card from your home country). You do not need to show proof of citizenship or legal residency to take free ESL classes.

Can I enroll if I do not speak any English at all?

Absolutely! We offer classes for every skill level, starting with foundational English for absolute beginners. Our placement assessment ensures you are placed in a class where you feel comfortable and capable.

Are there online options available if I cannot attend in person?

Yes. CFCC offers distance learning ESL courses that allow you to practice listening, reading, writing, and speaking from your computer or mobile device on your own schedule.
