Associate in Fine Arts – Theatre
Every credit a student earns at CFCC in the Associate of Fine Arts-Theatre program will count toward their degree at any one of the 16 institutions in the UNC System, and CFCC has special articulation agreements with universities across the state and beyond for students who want to pursue a fine arts education at the university level. Students who successfully complete an AFA degree can transfer to a receiving school as a junior.
Housed in the Wilson Center, the theatre program allows students the opportunity to work in both the 1,500+ seat Wilson Center Performance Hall and the intimate 105-seat Studio Theatre. Additional facilities include a scene shop, costume shop, dressing rooms, a control booth, and a drama lab for performance-based classes. During the academic year, we offer students the opportunity to work on two fully produced plays, a children’s show, and a student-directed ten-minute play festival.
Here’s how it works:
- Once you become a CFCC student, meet with a CFCC Academic Advisor and discuss your long-term goals.
- Connect with the transfer institution of your choice, and familiarize yourself with their transfer requirements.
- Keep your grades up and make sure to use CFCC’s student resources to help you be successful.
