Application Process for the Career and College Ready Pathway (CCR)

The Career and College Ready Pathway (CCR) is designed for students who fall below the 2.8 unweighted GPA requirement and would benefit from additional academic preparation.

This pathway introduces college developmental mathematics and developmental English and reading curricula during the junior or senior year of high school (including the summers immediately preceding those years). These courses are designed to provide early college remediation and ensure students are prepared for long-term academic and career success.

Through successful completion of the required developmental coursework, students can:

  • Become career and college ready, building the skills needed for college-level success
  • Transition into college-level English and math courses at CFCC upon high school graduation, reducing time to completion of a postsecondary credential
  • Remain in the Career and College Ready (CCR) pathway while still in high school and, upon completion of developmental education coursework, progress into college-level English and mathematics, as well as pathway-to-employment and transfer success coursework
  • Progress into a College Transfer Pathway (CTP), Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway, and/or Workforce Continuing Education Pathway (WCE) while still in high school, upon successful completion of the required coursework

This pathway serves as an important on-ramp, ensuring that students are not limited by initial GPA eligibility and are instead provided a structured opportunity to prepare, progress, and succeed within the Career and College Promise program.
