CFCC Launches New Short-Term Training Options for Film and Video Production

Wilmington, NC (July 16, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College has launched new short-term training classes for individuals interested in film and video production. These offerings provide opportunities to develop in-demand skills, gain hands-on experience, and prepare for careers in the film and television industry.
Students will learn from instructors with extensive industry experience and strong employer connections. Newly hired faculty will bring decades of experience on productions including One Tree Hill, The Hunger Games, Pretty Little Liars, Avatar and more. Classes will be held at Cinespace Studios , giving students access to industry-grade equipment, professional facilities, and real-world learning experiences.
“This short-term training program creates accessible pathways for students to develop and hone skills in filmmaking,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “By learning from accomplished industry professionals, our students will gain real-world knowledge and industry connections that prepare them to explore opportunities in the film and television industry.”
These continuing education classes do not require an application to the college and range in cost from $280 to $395. New offerings include:
- Grip Rigging for Stage/Film/TV
- Electric Rigging for Film/TV
- Locations Management for Film & TV
- Special Effects Film & Stage
- Visual Storytelling for Film
- Acting for Camera
