CFCC men’s and women’s soccer teams crowned Region 10 champions and set sights for national tournament

CFCC Mens SoccerWilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College is excited to announce that both the men’s and women’s soccer teams have been crowned Region 10 Conference Champions, marking the first time in over 15 years that both programs have achieved this feat simultaneously. This milestone marks the women’s soccer program’s fourth consecutive conference championship win, while the men’s soccer team celebrates its second conference title in CFCC history.

CFCC Womens SoccerCape Fear Women’s Soccer will face the Region 8 Champion, Pensacola State College, in the South Atlantic District Final on Saturday, November 2, at 1:00 p.m. at CFCC’s North Campus, while the men’s soccer team will travel to Knoxville, TN, to compete against Pellissippi State Community College in the Atlantic District Final on the same day, at 6:00 p.m. Winners of both district matchups will earn a spot in the National Tournament on November 17-23, 2024, in Huntsville, AL.

If each team wins their respective district matchup, this will be the first time in CFCC Athletics history that both teams receive a bid to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament. This will also be the first NJCAA National Tournament appearance for the CFCC men’s soccer program.

“Our soccer players have worked tirelessly since August to make their post-season dreams a reality,” says CFCC Director of Athletics Ryan Mantlo. “We couldn’t be more proud of both teams as we prepare for an exciting weekend of competitive soccer.”
