Wilmington, NC (August 5, 2025) – Cape Fear Community College, in partnership with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, is excited to announce a new offering, Culinary Fundamentals in Spanish. This new course is designed to support Spanish-speaking individuals in building a foundation in culinary skills and gain industry-recognized certification.
This hands-on course will take place at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC (1000 Greenfield Street, Wilmington) from September 24 through December 4. Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm., with a one-hour break each day. The program cost is $185 per participant. Students are also responsible for purchasing a knife kit and chef’s coat and hat.
Taught entirely in Spanish, Culinary Fundamentals is an opportunity for participants to gain practical skills and knowledge for working in commercial kitchens. Upon completion, students will earn their ServSafe Food Handler certification, a credential widely recognized in the food service industry.
