CFCC to host second chance employer engagement sessions

G Building Wilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) invites local employers to its Second Chance Employer Engagement Coffee Hour on Wednesday, February 14, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in room 101A of the G Building on CFCC’s downtown campus (411 N. Front Street, Wilmington). This event offers the opportunity for interested employers to learn about second chance hiring, connect with like-minded professionals, and explore resources that support justice-involved individuals seeking meaningful employment.

This event is open to any employer interested in becoming a second chance hiring champion. Attendance is free. Employers will gain valuable insights into the benefits of second chance hiring, including:

  • Best practices: Learn effective strategies for integrating justice-involved individuals into your workforce.
  • Financial incentives: Discover tax credits and other financial benefits available to employers.
  • Support resources: Explore local and state programs to aid employers and employees in successful reentry efforts.

In addition to learning more about the program, employers can network with peers who have successfully implemented second chance hiring practices and are positively impacting their industries and communities.

“Second chance hiring is not only a pathway to creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce but also an opportunity to tap into a motivated talent pool that can make a real difference in businesses and communities alike,” said Rachel Bodkin-Fox, CFCC Pathways Home 2 Program Director.
