CFCC to Host Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11

Wilmington, NC (October 28, 2025) – Cape Fear Community College will host a Veterans Day Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to honor the brave men and women who have served our nation. The ceremony will be held in Tabitha’s Courtyard, located behind the G Building on CFCC’s downtown campus (411 N. Front Street, Wilmington). In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in room U-170 in CFCC’s Union Station.

The ceremony will include:

  • Presentation of Colors – Headquarters and Service Battalion Color Guard, U.S. Marine Corps
  • National Anthem – Benjamin Lacombe, United States Marine Corps
  • Invocation – Dino Medler, Master Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy, Retired
  • Pledge of Allegiance – Trefor Hopkins, United States Marine Corps
  • Introductory Remarks – Jim Morton, CFCC President
  • “In Flanders Fields” – Phil Garwood, Lieutenant Commander of Royal Canadian Navy Veteran
  • Guest Speaker – Peter Champagne, Colonel United States Army, Retired
  • Reading of “I am a Veteran” – Diana Rios, United States Marine Corps
  • Service Hymns – Marcus Abraham, United States Army, Retired
  • Scholarship Presentations
  • Student Speaker – Eman Mohammed, United States Army National Guard
  • TAPS
  • Benediction – Dino Medler, Master Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy, Retired

Following the ceremony, all veterans are invited to attend a free lunch in the L Building lobby, adjacent to Tabitha’s Courtyard.
