CFCC Veterinary Medical Technology program director honored as inaugural AVTE Fellow
Wilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is proud to announce that April Lehmann, Veterinary Medical Technology Program Director, has been recognized as a member of the inaugural class of the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE) Fellow. This honor is awarded to exceptional veterinary technician educators who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, innovation, and mentorship.
AVTE established the Fellows Program to elevate the voice and stature of veterinary technician educators. The Fellow Veterinary Technician Educator (FVTE) designation acknowledges those who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to the next generation of veterinary technicians. The inaugural class was inducted at the 2024 Annual Conference in Houston, Texas.
“April Lehmann’s recognition as a member of the inaugural class of AVTE Fellows reflects her dedication and contributions to veterinary technician education,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “Her leadership and commitment enhance our program and inspire the next generation of veterinary professionals. We are proud of her achievements.”

AVTE Fellows can participate in unique programming and collective initiatives that strengthen veterinary technician education and the use of the FVTE designation.
