Wilmington, NC (October 30, 2025) – The Cape Fear Community College Wilma W. Daniels Gallery is proud to present Drama Unmasked: The Art of the Stage, a captivating new exhibition that celebrates the artistry and collaboration behind theatrical production. The exhibition will be on view from November 17 through December 12. A public opening reception and advance viewing of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, November 13, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Drama Unmasked pulls back the curtain on the creative forces that bring stories to life on stage. From set design and lighting to costume creation, sound design, and character development, the exhibition showcases the many facets of theatre-making that unite to create the magic of live performance.

“To craft a moment of theater, every element from a prop’s placement, a costume’s texture, or a gesture, contributes to the emotional impact,” said Skye Dlugy-Hegwer, CFCC Visual Art Studio Tech. “This exhibition honors that collaboration and invites visitors to experience the art and discipline that power the stage.”

Featuring sound designs, set models, costume renderings, and acting explorations, Drama Unmasked offers audiences a behind-the-scenes look at CFCC’s thriving theater program. The work on display highlights the creativity and dedication of CFCC’s theatre faculty and students, whose talent and collaboration bring performances to life and inspire the next generation of storytellers.
