CFCC’s Wilma W. Daniels Gallery presents Out of the Pines photography exhibition
Wilmington, NC – The Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) Wilma W. Daniels Gallery is excited to unveil Out of the Pines, a new photography exhibition highlighting the artistic talents of photography instructors across North Carolina. This exhibition will feature a wide range of photographic works, providing a unique opportunity for students and community members to experience the vibrant and varied approaches to the medium from educators around the state. The exhibition will run from Friday, July 26, to Friday, September 6.
Exhibition Details:
The Out of the Pines exhibition features the work of eighteen photography instructors from across North Carolina, representing Community Colleges and public and private four-year universities. Attendees can expect different mediums, subject matter, and interest levels.
The exhibition’s title, Out of the Pines, symbolizes the essence of North Carolinians and their rich artistic landscape. It emphasizes the importance and appreciation of photographic art.

The opening reception will be held on Friday, July 26, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. during the 4th Friday
Gallery Walk.
The Wilma W. Daniels Gallery on the Cape Fear Community College campus serves as an educational resource for students, faculty, and the community through the presentation of work by prominent regional and national artists. The gallery’s mission is to expand student awareness of artistic trends, motivations, and techniques through direct interaction with artwork and artists in the form of exhibitions, lectures, and related events. The gallery schedules eight to ten exhibitions annually, including one juried student show and one faculty exhibition. In addition to showcasing artwork, the gallery serves as a hands-on classroom for teaching curatorial and gallery management practices.
Closing Reception:
The closing reception will be held on Friday, August 23, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. during the 4th Friday Gallery Walk. The Wilma W.
