Biography

With over 20 years of experience, McGee serves as the Dean of Students/Title IX Coordinator at CFCC and executes the College’s efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under Title IX, which prohibits sex discrimination and harassment in all operations of College. McGee provides preventative and educational/training opportunities, as well as, adjudication for all disciplinary incidents on campus involving the student body. McGee embodies a student centered, holistic approach, to overall student development and empowers the college student to develop competencies which will ensure academic success and ultimately serve their long term educational, career and life aspirations.

Prior to being named Dean of Students, McGee served as Director of Athletics for over 15 years. McGee established Sea Devil Athletics from its infancy and developed a nationally recognized member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). McGee had the privilege to oversee the growth of an athletic program as it continued to earn numerous accolades and championships, as well as national recognition. McGee’s invaluable experience as a coach, mentor, and leader in an athletic environment has allowed for a specific skill set with college/university students, and its specific culture.

McGee attended East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and went on to earn a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. McGee holds the distinction of National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC), a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), and was positioned as a Region 10 Chair of Athletic Directors (Region 10 Executive Committee) and Region 10 Men & Women’s Soccer Chair (WV, VA, NC, SC,)for over a decade while serving as the Athletic Director. McGee serves on numerous advisory committees and consults within the scope of his current duties and responsibilities at the college.

McGee currently resides in Wilmington along with his beautiful wife Ashley, and two daughters, Bella and Myah.
