Assistant Director Childcare Development Center Department: Child Development Center Health Sciences/LRC (L) 101Wilmington Campus 910-362-7504
My name is Benita Miller I am the Assistant Director at Bonnie Sanders Burney Child Development Center at Cape fear Community College.
I have 30 years of experience in the field of early childhood education, my career spans a wide range of roles, from Lead Teacher and NC Pre-K Teacher to Head Start Supervisor and Administrator. I hold an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Early Childhood Development as well as a Montessori degree, allowing me to support our staff with a deep understanding of diverse learning styles.
The best part of every day is seeing the smiling faces of the children as they arrive each morning, excited to learn. I am lifelong learner who finds true joy in watching children grow and reach their milestones.
Outside of the center, I am a proud mother of two sons and a “Nana” to seven wonderful grandchildren. I love living near the coast and spends as much time as possible with my grandchildren and at my favorite place-the beach.
My philosophy is simple: I love to learn, and love helping children do the same. Nothing brightens my day more than the morning “drop-off” hours, seeing the children come through the doors happy and ready for the day ahead.
