CFCC Student Accident Insurance

Cape Fear Community College provides excess student accident insurance at no additional cost to all registered and enrolled curriculum and continuing education students. This insurance covers injuries that occur as a result of a covered accident while the student is:

  • Participating in activities sponsored, and supervised, by the college (excluding intercollegiate athletics);
  • Traveling during college sponsored activities when transportation is provided, or arranged by the college;
  • Traveling directly between the student’s home and the site of a covered college-sponsored activity.

Students are encouraged to seek medical attention from their primary provider as soon as it is needed.

To file a student accident insurance claim (supplemental ONLY), the student must do the following:

  1. If applicable, file an Incident Report , or obtain a copy from the Campus Safety Office.
  2. Complete the Student Accident Claim Form in its entirety;
  3. Submit both forms to Student Services for submission to the approved Insurance Carrier;
  4. Submit all itemized medical bills, along with the primary Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and any other documentation requested by the insurance carrier.

Student Professional Liability Insurance

Students enrolled in Health Sciences or other selective admission programs that include clinical or work-based learning, may be required to carry additional professional liability insurance. This insurance coverage helps protect the student, the college, and affiliated community partners.
