Video-Enhanced Learning in the Online Classroom

The trend toward online learning is growing. This workshop will provide tips, tricks, resources, and strategies for integrating attention-grabbing videos and gifs into online classrooms. Discussions will be centered on the importance of enhancing our online classrooms and the ways faculty can more effectively engage their online audience. You’ll get a brief introduction to Camtasia, Screencastomatic, ScreenCastify, and other tools to help deliver course content and make your online classes more engaging. Instructors will leave with new ideas and resources to help create a more dynamic online experience for students.

This workshop will discuss best practices when working with Non-Native English Speakers (also known as ESL students) in the classroom. The term ESL covers a wide variety of student populations, including International ESL students (students who have recently arrived from another country with no educational experiences in the US), Domestic ESL students (immigrant students who have completed a portion of their education in the US) and Generation 1.5 (students who are U.S. residents or citizens but whose first or home language is not English).
