CFCC Licensed Practical Nursing Program Ranked Best in State by PracticalNursing.org
WILMINGTON, NC — For the fourth consecutive year, PracticalNursing.org ranked CFCC’s Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program first among 38 other LPN programs in the state.
The scores and rankings for each school were determined based on a historical analysis of National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) exam pass rates and test scores.
“We are proud to be recognized by PracticalNursing.org for the accomplishments of our practical nursing program. CFCC has outstanding nursing faculty whose focus is on quality education and student success,” said CFCC Dean of Health Sciences Dr. Mary Ellen Naylor. “The honor of being recognized as the #1 practical nursing program in North Carolina and the continued success of our students exemplifies CFCC’s commitment to preparing graduates to meet the health care needs of our community.”
By 2028, the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that LPN jobs will increase by 11%. “Graduates in healthcare fields continue to field meaningful, rewarding work in our area,” said Dr. Naylor. “These professions are always in demand.”
Graduates of CFCC’s program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN), which is required for practice as a licensed practical nurse. CFCC practical nursing students have upheld a 100% first-time pass rate for the past 15 years.
Upon completion of CFCC’s program and passing the NCLEX-PN, CFCC graduates may begin their careers as licensed practical nurses.
“It is an honor for the College to receive this recognition and I am extremely proud of our Health Sciences faculty and staff,” said CFCC President Jim Morton. “Graduates from CFCC’s exceptional health science programs make a vital contribution to the quality of health care in our community and throughout the state.”
