CFCC women’s soccer player receives national NJCAA player of the week honors
Wilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is thrilled to announce that student-athlete Johanna “Jo” Morales has made history and gained national recognition by breaking the CFCC women’s soccer record for the most goals scored in a single game. As a sophomore forward for the Sea Devils, Morales’ exceptional performance earned her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors for Week 4, September 8-14.
Morales delivered an outstanding performance with eight goals and one assist in just two games. Her most remarkable achievement came during CFCC’s home opener against University of South Carolina (USC) Sumter on September 11, where she scored seven of her team’s ten goals, propelling them to a dominant 10-0 victory.
“Jo’s incredible achievement on the field reflects her hard work, dedication, and talent,” said C.W. Ponton, CFCC Women’s Soccer Coach. “She inspires her teammates and sets a new standard for excellence at CFCC. We’re extremely proud of her national recognition and excited to see where the rest of the season takes her.”
