CFCC academic warning lifted by SACSCOC

union stationWilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is pleased to report that its academic warning status has been officially lifted by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The announcement was made at the SACSCOC annual meeting on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

During the academic warning period, which began on December 5, 2023, Cape Fear Community College remained fully accredited. The college actively addressed the concerns identified by SACSCOC, ensuring compliance with all accreditation standards.

“This announcement reflects the incredible dedication of our faculty, staff, and leadership team,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “Throughout this process, we remained steadfast in our commitment to providing high-quality education and workforce development opportunities for our students and community. I am grateful to everyone who worked tirelessly to address the concerns raised, ensuring we continue to meet and exceed the highest standards of excellence in higher education.”
