Alumni Spotlight: Corey Pollock
Originally from Dunn, North Carolina, Corey Pollock graduated from Cape Fear Community College’s Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology program this past weekend. He is already making big moves in his new career, securing a full-time position at Jade Tank Lines, a locally owned and operated trucking company in Wilmington. We caught up with Corey to learn more about his experience at CFCC.
Why did you decide to enroll at CFCC?
Corey: I enrolled at CFCC because it was the most affordable option, was conveniently located in town, and provided a solid start for my career.
Can you tell us about your experience at CFCC?
Corey: My experience at CFCC was great. I got to be in a commercial for the college. I learned so much. I was able to work in the diesel field and go to school for it at the same time. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Did you have a favorite class?
Corey: My favorite class at CFCC was definitely the engines class. I loved rebuilding engines and learning about them in depth.
What are your plans after graduation?
Corey: I’m excited to start full-time at Jade Tank Lines.
What advice would you give someone considering studying at CFCC?
Corey: My advice for someone considering studying at CFCC is to study something you love and are passionate about. Study something you want to do.
Any final comments?
Corey: I appreciate everything CFCC has done for me. Until next time!
