Associate in Science
The Associate in Science (AS) degree requires 60-61 credit hours. It allows students to take the first two years of their baccalaureate degree at CFCC and enables them to transfer to one of the 16 institutions in the University of North Carolina System with junior status. An AS degree provides a strong foundation with a heavy emphasis on math and science courses for students interested in careers in architecture, agriculture, biology, chemistry, computer science, dentistry, forestry, mathematics, medicine, pharmacy, textiles and more.
Every credit a student earns at CFCC in the Associate of Science program will count toward their degree at any one of the 16 institutions in the UNC System, and CFCC has articulation agreements with universities across the state and beyond for students who want to pursue their education at the university level. Students who successfully complete an AS degree can transfer to a receiving school as a junior.
Here’s how it works:
- Once you become a CFCC student, meet with a CFCC Academic Advisor and discuss your long-term goals.
- Connect with the transfer institution of your choice, and familiarize yourself with their transfer requirements.
- Keep your grades up and make sure to use CFCC’s student resources to help you be successful.
