An Employer’s Quick Guide To Apprenticeships

WHAT IS REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP?

It is a proven approach to training your current and future workforce. Whether you are struggling with recruiting people with the skills you need or transferring the knowledge of your current experts to the next generation, Registered Apprenticeship is a cost-effective solution that combines structured on-the-job learning with classroom instruction.

With Registered Apprenticeship you can build a talent pipeline, mold future employees to your own culture and values, upskill incumbent workers, and ensure that they gain the technical skills relevant to your business.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS OF AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

To establish a successful program, sponsors must meet these core requirements:

  • Mentorship: Pair apprentices with experienced mentors.

  • Coordination: Coordinate on-the-job learning and related instruction to maximize the effectiveness of training.
