CFCC Announces Leadership Workshop Series: “From Skilled Expert to Effective Leader”
Wilmington, NC (January 12, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College is offering a new three-part professional development series, From Skilled Expert to Effective Leader, designed to help frontline leaders build the people-focused skills needed for day-to-day leadership success. The interactive series will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on February 11, March 11, and April 8, 2026, at CFCC’s downtown campus. Each session builds on the previous one, and participants must attend all three dates. Seats are limited, and registration is required.
The series directly supports new and emerging leaders by providing tools they can use immediately to improve communication, reduce rework, strengthen trust, and motivate teams. While many frontline leaders excel in technical roles, leading people requires a different skill set. This workshop series focuses on practical, easy-to-apply strategies using clear language and real-world scenarios that participants can implement the same day.
Taught in partnership with HW Consultants, a nationally respected leadership and organizational development firm with decades of experience developing leaders across manufacturing, healthcare, construction, logistics, technology, and professional services. Their facilitators bring deep, practical expertise and cross-industry perspective, give participants an opportunity to learn from world examples beyond their own workplace and apply proven leadership practices across a wide range of environments.
The series is intended for new and emerging frontline leaders, high-performing employees transitioning into people-leadership roles, and leads, supervisors, coordinators, or specialists responsible for daily team performance. It is best suited for individuals seeking clearer communication, stronger confidence, and practical tools to lead people, not just tasks.
