CFCC announces selection of Lucinda McNamara to Dean of University Transfer and Partnerships
Wilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is excited to announce the selection of Lucinda McNamara to Dean of University Transfer and Partnerships. This promotion reflects Lucinda’s exceptional leadership, dedication, and contribution to the growth and success of our organization.
Lucinda has been with CFCC for 16 years, most recently holding the position of Humanities Department Chair, where she oversaw a variety of disciplines and general education courses required of all curriculum programs. Throughout her tenure, she has consistently displayed an understanding of the academic landscape and has been instrumental in cultivating strong relations within the community college and with educational partners.
As the new Dean of University Transfer and Partnerships, Lucinda will provide strategic leadership and operation management of the University Transfer Division, composed of all transfer programs, departments, and courses supporting CFCC’s general education requirements for curriculum programs. In addition, this position will build and expand partnerships with other educational institutions, including K-12, Career and College Promise (CCP), Cooperative and Innovative High Schools (CIHS), UNC System institutions, and NC Independent Colleges and Universities.

Lucinda holds a master’s in Television and Film from San Diego State University. She has worked in education for 23 years and taught courses in scriptwriting, history of cinema, documentary production, war in film, introduction to film, and advanced film. Her experience at San Diego State University’s Production Center for Documentary and Drama, theatrical advertising at Twentieth Century Fox Film, and her regional Emmy award-winning documentary work have fueled her passion for the pursuit of teaching others. She co-hosts the annual Albertine Cinémathèque/Tournées Film Festival, co-founded CFCC’s Humanities International Film Festival, and co-created the Humanities Department Fall Lecture series.
