CFCC hosts Pathway to Careers Event for Pender County Seniors
Wilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) held a Pathways to Careers event for Pender High, Topsail High, and Heidi Trask seniors still exploring post-graduation options. On March 20, forty-nine students visited CFCC’s Wilmington and North campuses to engage in various career pathway discussions tailored to their interests. They each had the opportunity to learn more about specific career pathways and interact with students and faculty in those fields.
Students participated in various hands-on career-related demonstrations, from Marine Technology and Culinary Arts to Business Analytics, Film Production, Welding, Cosmetology, and many other programs. They gained practical insight into potential career paths and the educational programs to help them achieve their goals.
“In today’s dynamic job market, there are numerous pathways to success beyond the traditional post-secondary education routes,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “Our Pathways to Careers event was geared toward students discovering alternative routes to fulfilling and rewarding careers.”
Additionally, representatives from different departments and programs within the community college were present to answer questions and provide guidance on the application process, financial aid options, and other resources available to support students.
“We understand that choosing the right path after high school can be overwhelming, especially for students who are undecided or unsure about their future plans,” said Shawn Dixon, CFCC North Campus Provost. “Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where students can explore their interests, discover new opportunities, and make informed decisions about their future.”
