CFCC Latino outreach coordinator named as 2023 LatinX Fellow

Joceline PerfectoWilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College is proud to announce that Jocelinne Perfecto, CFCC Latino Outreach Coordinator, has been selected as a 2023 LatinxEd Fellow. Jocelinne will join thirteen other Latinx leaders from across North Carolina to engage in leadership development in order to further develop and advance education equity and opportunity in North Carolina.

The LatinxEd Fellowship is an esteemed program that selects exceptional individuals who have demonstrated leadership, advocacy, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the Latinx community in education. As a LatinxEd Fellow, Jocelinne will join an elite cohort of educators and leaders who drive meaningful change in higher education and advocate for increased access and success for Latinx students.

Jocelinne is CFCC’s first Latino Outreach coordinator and has been in the position since January of 2023. During her time at CFCC, Jocelinne has worked to create tailored support services, workshops, and mentorship, for Latinx students.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our Latino Outreach Coordinator for being named a LatinxEd Fellow,” said Sabrina Terry, CFCC Vice President of Student Services. “Jocelinne has played a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for our Latinx students to thrive academically and personally.”
