CFCC Student Art Selected for State Art Exhibit
Wilmington, NC — The artwork of Cape Fear Community College student artist Bella Sollosi was recently selected to be featured in the 2021 North Carolina Community College System Office (NCCCS) Student Art Exhibit. The virtual display, dedicated to North Carolina healthcare workers, features the work of 30 student artists from colleges across the state.
Bella Sollosi’s “Sunbathing,” an oil-on-canvas painting, was selected by healthcare educators in the greater Fayetteville area to be a part of the 2021 NCCCS art exhibit. The piece also won best in show at CFCC’s annual student art show. “The technical skill displayed by this painting is indicative of the high-quality instruction we provide at Cape Fear Community College,” said Brandon Guthrie, dean of CFCC’s Arts and Humanities division. “The Associate in Fine Arts – Visual Arts program prepares students with the technical and conceptual skills necessary to excel in this field.”
“We are proud of our students and faculty for their achievements, and we’re happy to be included in this statewide exhibition that is certain to spotlight the breadth of talent and skill for which the North Carolina Community College System is known,” said Guthrie.
The virtual exhibit, hosted by The Art Gallery at Fayetteville Community College, will be open from May 17 through Aug. 21, 2021. A virtual event to announce the winners will be held on Friday, June 4, from 4 to 6 p.m.
