CFCC Opens NC Military Business Center Office

NCMBC Grand Opening

Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is pleased to announce the opening of the North Carolina Business Center (NCMBC) at its downtown campus. The NCMBC is a business development entity of the North Carolina Community College System that provides federal business development resources and services to North Carolina businesses.

As one of 15 centers across the state, the CFCC Military Business Center offers business development services to businesses in New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. The center will be led by Donna Warren, who will provide one-on-one assistance to help businesses compete for, win and grow jobs through federal contracts. Specifically, Ms. Warren will monitor contract opportunities from the US Coast Guard (Force Readiness Command; Acquisitions Directorate; Research and Development Center; Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center [SILC]; SILC Civil Engineering Unit Cleveland; Surface Forces Logistics Center; Fifth Coast Guard District and more), US Cyber Command, Army Contracting Command (Orlando and Picatinny Arsenal), National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency, and other cybersecurity and information technology-related agencies.

“The business development team is the heart of the NCMBC,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC Executive Director. “Donna’s experience as a contracting officer with the Department of Treasury and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency will equip her to provide invaluable assistance to North Carolina businesses in winning and successfully executing federal contracts.”

About Donna Warren

Prior to joining the NCMBC, Ms. Warren was the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) counselor co-located with the Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) – Wilmington, serving six counties: Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow, and Pender, focused on educating business clients about local, state and federal contracting.

Ms. Warren has over 36 years of experience as a contracting professional in the Department of the Treasury and with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and in private industry with two Fortune 500 companies and as Director with an 8(a), woman-owned, disabled veteran-owned, minority-owned, IT company. Ms. Warren holds Defense Acquisition University Level III certification in contracting, Level II certification in purchasing, and is certified in information technology and program management.
