Biography
Sharon Wozniak-Spencer grew up in the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C. She earned her BA in 1990 from The University of Maryland, with a concentration in graphic design and drawing. Her further education is an MA in art education from The Ohio State University, where she specialized in curriculum design and arts pedagogy.Her work has been shown throughout the United States, including in a solo exhibit at the Cameron Art Museum. Wozniak-Spencer continued her artistic work in the tradition of figurative art at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and earned her MFA in 2017.
She is active with “Friends in Need,” locally creating space to help those in need through art, including at a show at WDG, put on with the help of many CFCC faculty and fellow artists. The show raised 5,000 for Eden Village to help with permanent housing for the homeless.
