A native of Wilmington, NC, George Johnson moved back to the area in 2012. His mother, Madeline “Tuggie” Trask, worked for the CFCC Foundation for many years. Mrs. Johnson also established an endowed scholarship with the Foundation.

George has over thirty years of work experience in the real estate development business, initially working in major marketing in the southeast developing Class A office buildings and warehouse facilities. He later became a real estate development consultant for some major Fortune 500 corporations.

Since 2003, George has been doing residential development/master planned communities and was part of one of the best examples of traditional neighborhood development in the country ( Habersham in Beaufort, SC ). Currently, George does residential real estate development in consulting for primarily one Wilmington-based investor as well as for schools in the charter school space. His company is Hillmont Consulting.
