Dr. Marc Sosne sworn in to CFCC Board of Trustees
Wilmington, NC – Dr. Marc Sosne was sworn in to the Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) Board of Trustees during their bi-monthly meeting.
Dr. Sosne is a lifelong educator who began his career as an instructor in Rochester, New York, in 1972 and was quickly promoted to principal of an elementary school at the age of twenty-six. He remained a school administrator for the next forty years, spending twenty-three years as a superintendent. During this time, he served as Assistant Superintendent and Interim Superintendent of New Hanover County Schools from 1990 to 1995 and as Superintendent of Pender County Schools from 1996 to 2004. He also served as the Superintendent in Residence at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for three years, where he directed the Masters in School Administration program.
“We are thrilled to welcome our newest trustee to the board,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “Dr. Sosne’s wealth of experience and dedication to education will undoubtedly enrich our community college and help us continue to provide high-quality education to our students.”
Dr. Sosne was appointed by the New Hanover County Board of Education and will serve until 2027.
