Wilmington Woman’s Club (WWC) began awarding two $1,500.00 scholarships to Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) Nursing students in 1996 and one $500.00 scholarship to a CFCC Early Childhood Education student in 2004. They also awarded a one-time grant of $500.00 for materials and supplies utilized by the Early Childhood Education program. As of 2019, WWC has donated over $80,000.00 to CFCC.

Wilmington Woman’s Club, organized in 1964 and incorporated in 1970, is a 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is “to unite members into a charitable organization for the promotion of education and activities in civic, cultural, educational and social welfare for the betterment of the community and state.” They meet once a month from September through May to share information about the community and our involvement, and to hear a guest speaker share information about one of our five areas of community service. They also actively participate in various fundraisers throughout the year to provide funds for our scholarships and to provide financial support for other non-profit agencies and organizations.
