Policy Statement

Cape Fear Community College employees are covered by Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

Procedure

All employees are covered by Workers’ Compensation. If an employee is injured because of, or in the course of their employment, or contracts an occupational related medical condition, the employee may be eligible to medical attention at the College’s expense. In addition, the employee will be paid for lost time as provided for by the Workers’ Compensation Act.

The first responsibility for workers’ compensation lies with the employee. It is imperative for the employee to report the accident or occupationally related medical condition to their supervisor and Human Resources. Please contact Human Resources for further information.
